I have borrowed the Topic here from my project title at researchgate.net, where I have written an “About me” Introduction, as follows:

Pure Research, Optical Mineralogy, Petrography: Mapping of refractive indices (RIs) displayed by whole-rock and mineral-separate powders, via the liquid-Immersion, double-variation method presented in Ch. 5 of R.C. Emmons’s 1943 GSA Memoir 8 (http://tinyurl.com/oz98vpu); but no use of a universal stage. The unique aspect of this work is generation of statistically-significant data sets: Don’t bring any particles to known optical orientations, before comparing their RI to those of immersion liquid previously calibrated for RI=f[λ(nm),T(°C)]. Quick counts lead to detailed maps with high resolution.
What I am hoping to do in this Resonance Science Foundation Forum is to interest you in how my work might impact your own interests; and, further, to discuss the implications my work may have, as we consider it in the light of Nassim’s (et alia’s) great strides toward unifying Quantum and Cosmological Theories.
I got into Geology because I loved the outdoors; and, weak in math, I was told that math was not necessarily required of Geologists. Ha! The laugh’s on me. I became fascinated with Optical Mineralogy and the Becke Line (please see sundry online videos) in particular. That led to my becoming essentially an Optical Physicist who has rarely found time to enjoy being outdoors in Nature. But I love my work.
