Why are these two sites grayed out, please?

I have learned from @Jonathan, via @Penny, that topics are grayed out after one visits them, but that they become black again when somebody posts something new there.

Penny also pointed me to Robert McIntosh’s “Discourse New User Guide”, at https://meta.discourse.org/t/discourse-new-user-guide/96331

When trying to figure out how to delete this thread, I finally searched “How to delete a topic in Discourse”, which led me to https://meta.discourse.org/t/how-do-i-delete-a-topic/80246. Following that advice led to my discovering that I “… don’t have permission to delete this topic” (which seems rather strange).

Then I thought that maybe the topic should be left in place, so that others and I could add more tips related to getting around on this platform.

That, of course, raises the question as to how (if possible) to change the name of a thread (this could become “Tips for fellow users”, for example. Another question arises: Can moderators occasionally rearrange topics hierarchically, to reduce the clutter of separate thread topics that would better be placed together in a logical structure?

So much to learn.

Hey Steve

I thought the same until I realised the subjects were turning grey once I had visited them. I think it is a good thread to help people with the same question.
I’m unsure if you can change the title of the subject as I can’t seem to find a button anywhere to do that but reading through your thread will still help people
